Our KWRH Respiratory Therapists (RTs) treat patients with disorders affecting the cardiopulmonary system such as asthma, emphysema, pneumonia, and cardiovascular disorders. They provide care and life support to patients in the emergency department, intensive care and other general hospital areas.

 

Managing ventilators and artificial airway devices is a primary responsibility of these professionals. They play a prominent role along with the Intensive Care nursing staff and Intensivists in managing critically ill patients. 

 

They also play a key role in consulting with physicians and other healthcare staff to develop and adjust patient care plans.
